The annual hydrangea season is off to a start! The dreamy sea of flowers will surely draw you here. Qingshan Farm, located 800 meters above sea level in Taimali’s Jinzhen Mountain and has become the most popular flower viewing spot in Taitung. The hydrangea season is between May and July of each year and draws in large crowds of visitors to the area.
What used to be an orange daylily farm and drying factory, Qingshan Farm began its transformation a decade ago. They have created a Leisurely Farm that offers tourism, B&B, and restaurants. A variety of plants and flowers have been grown on and around the farm so that visitors can feast their eyes on different flowers all year round. Qingshan Farm is situated on a hill. The hydrangea pathway is about 1.5 KM long, and over 600 hydrangea plants bloom throughout the slopes of the valley. You’ll get to experience the incredible feeling of being surrounded by a sea of hydrangeas as you walk along this pathway.
The majority of the hydrangeas are lavender purple and pastel blue, giving off an elegant and fresh feeling. The hydrangea pathway has two main themes, the first part of the pathway is like the opening to a fairy tale, welcoming guests into the mystical hydrangea fields. The flowers blossom on both sides of the path to create a fantastical atmosphere. The second portion of the pathway opens up, allowing guests to look over the green hills. There is a seemingly endless field of romantic and beautiful violet flowers! The entire pathway is smooth and easy to hike. There are even some pagodas and viewing platforms where you can take a break on the way, making it perfect even for the young and elderly.
