Did you know that there’s more to do than just hot springs in Zhiben? You can come and run a marathon. The Zhiben Hot Spring Charity Marathon had its inaugural event in 2015. The organizers made the event even more meaningful by donating a portion of the proceeds to Kid’s Bookhouse (孩子的書屋) to help children living in remote areas to grow up in a safe environment.
The Zhiben Hot Spring Charity Marathon has several different race distances to choose from: Marathon Distance (42k), Half Marathon Distance (23k), Healthy Lifestyle Distance (10k), and Leisurely Run Distance (6k).
The event route surrounds the Zhiben forest area so you can take in the fresh air coming from the woods while also taking in the beautiful natural scenery.
This year’s event will reward the runners with our specialty: Barrel-broiled chicken. There will be 100 chickens awaiting our contestants at the finish line to be devoured. Since the event date is the day before Valentine’s Day, we also prepared a special reward for any couples who cross the finish line holding the hands with their loved ones, friends or family.
