PROVINCIAL HIGHWAY NO.11
Provincial Highway 11 , parallel along the east coast, runs through the eastern Taiwan. With gorgeous mountains on one side and blue sea on the other side, the highway features many attractions on the way. One of the famous scenic spots is the well-known ocean view, which shows different colors as the weather changes. With the splendid coastline, spectacular landscapes, unique art and culture, and a range of water sports and adventures to choose from, Taiwan’s East Coast attracts visitors over and over again. It offers a distinctive experience to everyone.
When entering the Pisirian, it’s impossible not to notice the herds of goats created from driftwood. This is a unique art installation of the tribe. Pisirian is the name of the tribe which in the Amis language means “home of the goats”. In the past, this was home to many herds of goats, but as time moved on, it became challenging to find goats around the tribe. However, goats are an essential part of the tribe and one of its distinctive qualities.
Situated by the shore, Pisirian is set against stunning blue skies and rolling waves. You can find 11 paintings by Jimmy scattered around the tribe. If you want to explore the interesting stories of Pisirian, follow the little girl and brave warrior in Jimmy’s artwork for a unique journey.
Besides the breathtaking views and fun paintings, the Pisirian Tribe’s unique “Paw Paw drums” are also quite famous. The Tribe’s Community Development Association began to promote the Paw Paw drums in 2006. The unique rhythm paired with the children’s bright and vibrant voices has given the village a breath of new life. Are you also mesmerized by the tribe’s charisma?
