Crazy for Aiyu

The most delicious foods are usually those we have eaten during our childhood. The flavors have been engraved deeply into our memories. While there are a vast variety of desserts available on the market, there aren’t many like the traditional snack aiyu in the way such a simple treat can bring such great satisfaction. You will be able to find this childhood treat at Crazy for Aiyu in Guanshan.

The store Crazy for Aiyu is a renovated old Japanese building. There’s an indoor and outdoor dining area. The shop has humble and simple decorations that give a neat and relaxing vibe. Crazy for Aiyu’s motto is “eat simply to create something not so simple,” and they strive to create tasty aiyu for their guests. The aiyu is home-grown. The aiyu jelly is made in-house daily by the owner and his family. This ensures that the aiyu is 100% natural with no additives, making it a healthy and light treat. The Aiyu is soft and jelly and pairs perfectly with some fresh lemon juice and pineapple honey jam. You can add syrup and lemon juice based on your preference. This treat is perfect for a hot summer day! (Photo Credit:IG @wanzi740625

Signature Menu

Beyond the classic aiyu jelly with lemon and pineapple honey jam, look for the rose latte aiyu, lemon black tea aiyu, and the millet wine aiyu — a nod to Indigenous Taitung flavors. Ask about the hidden-menu plum beer and yakult versions if you want to try something unexpected.

Visiting Tips

The shop occupies a beautifully restored Japanese-era house, so it gets busy on weekends — arrive early or be ready to wait for a seat. Hours can shift with the season, so it’s worth calling ahead before making the trip out to Guanshan.
