The Taitung Expo 2026 will officially open next year, and its visual identity was unveiled during the “High on Taitung” concert, marking the start of the countdown. With the theme “Slow for Life” and the core concept of a “Slow Economy,” the Expo aims to showcase a future shining in “Taitung Blue.” It integrates Austronesian culture and sustainability, inviting everyone to slow down, step into Taitung, and experience the richness and rhythm of this land.

The visual logo is based on the concept of “Amazing Taitung,” inspired by the ascent of a hot air balloon — a symbol of Taitung’s energy and potential. The main color, Taitung Blue, represents the calm vitality of the region, while the balloon’s ascending motion forms a visual exclamation mark, conveying surprise, wonder, and endless possibilities.

Supporting graphics extend this imagery with fluid lines and layered designs that evoke mountains, waves, and the rising balloon. The composition creates a serene aesthetic in harmony with nature, enhancing the overall visual storytelling.

The identity animation, produced by White Radiance Studio, revolves around the theme “A Little More ‘!’ in Taitung.” Through its illustrated style, warm tones, and delicate music, it captures the essence of Taitung — from its vast mountains and seas, abundant harvests, and relaxing hot springs to the freedom of cycling and the spirit of slow living. It also incorporates Austronesian culture, the heritage of baseball, and indigenous motifs, reflecting the region’s cultural depth. The animation culminates in blossoming shell ginger flowers, rippling rice fields, and soaring balloons merging into a single exclamation mark — a metaphor for nature and humanity intertwined, and the heart of the “Slow for Life” spirit, inviting people to step into Taitung and experience every touching moment.

The Taitung Expo 2026 will be held from July to September 2026, featuring ten themed curations and at least thirteen large-scale events. Employing non-typical curatorial strategies, it will connect mountain and ocean resources, local festivals, and community creativity to expand the Taitung Brand and sustain its vibrancy throughout the year.

According to the Cultural Affairs Department, Taitung County is promoting brand licensing and public participation programs, encouraging local collaboration and creativity. The release of the new identity animation marks a milestone as the countdown begins. The county government will continue to unite resources and efforts to ensure that the world will “See Taitung and Step into Taitung.”
