The sixth annual global competition “GO SMART Award 2024,” organized by the Global Organization of Smart Cities (GO SMART), attracted 39 submissions from 24 cities in 12 countries. The Taitung County Government stood out with its theme “TTPush, Bringing Taitung to Your Fingertips,” ultimately winning the highest honor award of the International Smart City Go Smart Award. Deputy County Magistrate Wang Chih-hui attended the award ceremony to receive the accolade.


County Magistrate April Yao expressed gratitude to the organizers for recognizing Taitung’s efforts. The county government is dedicated to promoting a “slow economy” policy, emphasizing natural landscapes and high-quality environments to boost the tourism industry and premium agricultural products. This aligns with the policy goal of sustainable urban-rural development. In recent years, Taitung has attracted many international residents and young professionals relocating from other parts of Taiwan, fostering a close-knit community. TTPush serves as a digital governance tool facilitating direct communication between the government and citizens, enhancing administrative efficiency, and promoting social and economic development. It has contributed significantly to improving residents’ quality of life. This honor will serve as motivation for Taitung County’s future endeavors, pledging to continue promoting smart technology to make Taitung a unique hub for slow living, slow tourism, and slow economic development nationwide.


The GO SMART Smart City Award aims to facilitate communication and collaboration between government and industries, striving for greater sustainability and livability. Currently, TTPush has around 122,600 members, nearly half of Taitung County’s population, actively using the platform. The TT Coin is accepted at approximately 600 affiliated stores across the county, from well-known enterprises and stores in the city to partner shops even on Orchid Island. This recognition highlights Taitung County Government’s outstanding performance in the field of smart technology, which is expected to drive the infusion of new technological applications and development in local industries.
