Zhaori Hot Spring is not only one of the most beautiful hot springs in all of Taiwan, but it is also a world-class saltwater hot spring. There are only three places in the world, Italy, Kyushu Japan, and Taiwan’s Green Island, that have this geographical phenomenon. Zhaori Hot Spring, located in the south part of Green Island, was named because it faces the Pacific Ocean where the sun rises. Visitors can enjoy the warm hot spring water while waiting for the sun to rise. The heart and body-warming experience is truly unforgettable.
The hot spring is a sulfate chloride spring. After the seawater seeps into the earth, it is heated when passing the volcanic magma chamber, and forms a hot spring when the heated water seeps through in the intertidal zone. Thus, the hot spring has a salty taste, but will not irritate your skin, and makes for a refreshing bath. The hot spring zone is roughly 1500 square meters. There are 5 outdoor scenic hot spring pools, indoor hot springs, an egg-boiling area, shaded resting spaces, and more. The round outdoor scenic hot spring has been named, “sunrise rock and roll zone” because it boasts a wide and unobstructed view where guests can enjoy the magnificent sight of the sun rising over the ocean. The indoor hot springs area also has SPA facilities where you can unwind and relax. (Photo credit: Taitung County Government)
