2023 Starry Taitung Night

The most romantic promise is to visit the Balloon Festival in Taitung and explore the Starry Taitung Night so that your summer is filled with dazzling memories! The Taitung County Government held a contest in 2018 to find the most beautiful starry night in Taitung, kindling a stargazing frenzy all around Taitung. A total of 14 locations were voted as the best star-gazing locations in Taitung. This year, the Starry Taitung Night events will continue to be held. Guided starry night tours are open for reservation now. Don’t forget about the 8 Starry Night Taitung Concerts which will include a bonus hour of music this year, lasting from 18:00 until 21:00. For the first time this year, Orchid Island will also host one of these concerts, adding even more anticipation for this exciting event.

Taitung is vast, open, and blessed with a clean and pure environment. With minimal light pollution in Taitung, almost any location can be suitable for star-gazing. Starting in 2019, the Starry Night Taitung event began hosting Starry Taitung Night Guided Tours, and tour activities. These guided tours are led by professional astronomy specialists and Starry Taitung Night Guides, showing you the best star-gazing locations and unique sights of Taitung’s night sky. The Starry Night Taitung Concerts will be held in the 7 Townships of Taitung where you will be introduced to the charming Taitung summer evenings with beautiful melodic accompaniment.

In 2022, the Starry Night Taitung events joined the special project “sustainability initiative” which charged an earth tax that was donated to environmental non-profits around the world. A sustainable and unique nighttime tourism model which combines tourism events, industrial development, in-depth travel, and personnel training, was created.
