Crowned the “Michelin star restaurant in the hills,” Vuvu Veggie Restaurant is a hidden gem located in the Senyong Tribal Village in Daren Township. Vuvu is Paiwan meaning the elderly and the young. After the owner’s military discharge, Lin Chang Xianwen inherited the wisdom of the tribe’s elders and hoped to make a better future for the next generation. He returned to his hometown and opened a tribal-themed specialty hot pot restaurant which became a unique eatery on the South-Link route.

Vuvu Veggie Restaurant sits atop a mountain. The restaurant is decorated in a simple and natural style, making a relaxing dining environment. There’s a large window that opens up all the way so that guests can enjoy their meal taking in the whole view while breathing in the fresh and crisp mountain air as well as feeling both fully relaxed and healed.

Vuvu Veggie Restaurant’s signature meal is the wild veggie hot pot. The heaping portion of vegetables is a pleasant surprise! All of the vegetables are homegrown and organic. The hearty portions of veggies are crisp and tender, including a variety of greens that you wouldn’t usually find on the market. The soup is sweet and delicious thanks to the fresh mountain spring used to make it! Cook the vegetables one type at a time to taste the individual flavors for a refreshing and satisfying meal.

Besides hot pot, cold appetizers include flying fish roe sausage, mountain boar, and thousand-year egg with tofu; they are all delicious choices. The restaurant even provides bottomless rice and braised pork sauce for guests to enjoy! Please note, The restaurant has limited seating and all vegetables are picked on the day of.
