Orchid Island’s Lover Cave is located beside Dongcing Village. Its stunning and unique coastal erosion landscape has made it one of the most famous sites on the island. The natural arch has a diameter of around 5 meters and looks like a blue doorway to the ocean. Visitors are drawn to this location for photos and surfing. However, the Lover Cave is located in a rural spot that is not directly accessible by scooter. To get there, you need to cut through the round the island highway and walk along a small path for about ten minutes. The reefs around the entrance are rugged and can be difficult to walk along, so closed-toe shoes are recommended. The rolling waves echo in the cave, and the rhythmic sounds are lovely and quite soothing. However, there can be many hidden dangers in the coastal erosion landscape, including deep caverns.
