A Beloved Guanshan Bakery with Nearly 80 Years of History

Founded in 1946, Huo-Sheng Bakery is a long-standing local favorite in Guanshan, passed down through three generations. The shop originally specialized in traditional pastries such as traditional Han cakes, ma lao (puffed rice snacks), and fengzai cakes, later expanding into bread offerings while preserving its classic flavors through the years.

Fresh bread is baked daily, carrying the familiar charm of a traditional Taiwanese bakery. Among its most popular items is the soft and fluffy pull-apart toast filled generously with sweet fillings. The red bean flavor, in particular, is a local favorite and often sells out quickly, so pre-ordering is recommended.

While the exterior appears simple and understated, it holds nearly eight decades of craftsmanship and local memory within. When visiting Guanshan, beyond enjoying the surrounding rural scenery, this well-loved bakery is also worth a stop.
