A Slow Food Italian Table Led by a German Chef
Located in Luye, Chubby Rabbit was founded by a German chef passionate about Italian cuisine. Since relocating to Taitung in 2015, he has embraced the local slow food movement. In 2024, the restaurant was honored with the highest distinction—three stars—in the Taitung Slow Food Selection.
The menu centers around Italian-inspired dishes, offering herbal teas, seasonal fruit salads, spiced bread with seasonal soup, thin-crust maqaw and smoked swordfish pizza, handmade pasta, and fruit gelato—presenting a delicious portrait of everyday life.
Reservations are required and must be made at least one day in advance via Facebook. The cafe provides a bilingual Chinese-English menu and welcomes both domestic and international travelers to enjoy a slow food experience that merges local ingredients with Italian craftsmanship.
