Apply for Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) in Taitung

When you enter Taiwan with a Resident Visa or Work Visa, you must apply for an Alien Resident Card (ARC) at your nearest local office of Ministry of Interior National Immigration Agency within 15 days of your arrival. Taitung ranks 15th of foreign residents population in 2023. (Data Source: Immigration Affairs Division) Top 10 foreigners living in Taitung are from Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, United States, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Canada, United Kingdom, and South Korea.

A completed application form.

One 2’’ x 2’’ colored photo, front head and shoulder, taken within six months.

Fees:
(1) One-year term: NT$1,000.
(2) Two-year term: NT$2,000.
(3) Three-year term: NT$3,000.
(4) Overseas Chinese students: NT$500.

Related documents for residency

(1) If you have family members joining you: Proof of family relationships such as Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Household Registration Transcript issued within three months, Household Certificate, ID Card, or ARC, but foreign documents shall be authenticated by Taiwanese offices abroad. Foreign spouses who are the first time petitioners shall be accompanied by their spouse with Taiwanese National.

(2) If you are seeking to obtain residency through employment or investment: An approval letter issued by the competent authority and an In-service Certificate.

(3) If you are planning to study at a university or to learn Mandarin in Taiwan: A Student ID Card or an Enrollment Certificate. Overseas Compatriot students who are first time petitioners shall submit a notification of enrollment and admission permission.

(4) If you are seeking an ARC because of missionary purposes: A certificate of a registered religious group and its invitation or other related documents.
