To empower county staff in mastering Artificial Intelligence (AI) and integrating it into administrative workflows, the Taitung County Government launched the “AI Empowerment and Process Reengineering” staged practical workshop on April 13. Deputy Magistrate Wang Zhi-hui attended the opening ceremony, encouraging participants with the core philosophy of “processes before systems; data before AI.” He urged departments to start with workflow reviews and pain-point analysis, utilizing AI as a tool to boost administrative efficiency and service quality.

The county government noted that while AI has become a crucial driver for organizational upgrades and innovation, its introduction should go beyond simply adopting new tools. It is equally vital to return to the essence of administrative work by re-examining workflows, data utilization, and cross-departmental collaboration. This workshop centers on “mapping processes and pinpointing pain points,” guiding participants through a phased curriculum—from fundamental concepts and practical applications to the development of custom AI tools—to gradually build their capabilities.

The program is divided into three stages: the first on April 13, titled “Cultivating an AI Digital Mindset”; the second on April 24, “Accelerating Administrative Efficiency with AI”; and the third on April 27, “Building Your Own AI Tools.” The curriculum covers AI basics, administrative use cases, presentation and summary assistance, and workflow automation, helping staff seamlessly integrate AI into their daily routines.

The government further explained that this initiative aims to both enhance individual skills and lay the foundation for smart governance. By training seed personnel, streamlining data and processes, and feeding results back into the TTOne Platform, the program seeks to accumulate data assets that will serve as a basis for future governance optimizations.

In addition, to maximize the practical impact of AI and spark organizational innovation across departments, the workshop will be followed by a “Process Optimization and Innovation Competition.” TTPush (Taitung Coin) will be introduced as an incentive to encourage departments to propose and implement concrete solutions. Furthermore, two professional mentors will provide online consultation and guidance to help clarify operational bottlenecks and AI application paths, ensuring results are effectively implemented and scaled.

The Taitung County Government emphasized that the key to AI adoption lies in addressing real-world needs, alleviating administrative burdens, and improving service performance. Moving forward, the county will continue to leverage training and practical mechanisms to integrate AI into administrative processes, building a more efficient and intelligent public service system.
