Weaving the warmth of memory, one thread at a time

Rooted in the traditional weaving, patterns, and embroidery of the Bunun, Abus Bunun Clothing Studio was founded by Abus (Chiu Chun-Nu), who returned to her hometown to continue her mother’s craft and preserve the beauty of indigenous culture in daily life. The studio not only creates and sells traditional Bunun garments but also combines them with modern design to produce accessories, bags, and other practical items — each piece reflecting a delicate balance between tradition and innovation.

Abus personally leads ramie harvesting, thread-making, and weaving workshops, guiding participants through every step — from stripping bark and cleaning fibers to spinning and weaving — offering a hands-on experience that reveals both the cultural depth and the handmade warmth behind each textile.

Basic English communication is available. To arrange bilingual guided tours, please contact the studio in advance. (Photo credit: @chihwei_chao )
