Notably, the general manager of Saigontourist, Vietnam’s largest travel agency, also joined the delegation to Taitung. As a state-owned enterprise and one of Vietnam’s leading tourism companies, Saigontourist operates travel agencies, hotels, and transportation fleets, maintaining a comprehensive tourism industry chain and a strong presence both domestically and internationally. Its participation opens new opportunities for attracting more Vietnamese visitors to Taitung in the future.

According to Bu Min-Zheng, Director of Taitung’s Department of Transportation and Tourism Development, this marks the third charter flight between Taitung and Vietnam, bringing nearly 1,000 foreign visitors to the county. Vietnamese guests experienced Taitung through activities such as rural village tours, visits to the Zhiben National Forest Recreation Area, cycling along the Chishang Mr. Brown Avenue, and exploring East Coast scenic spots. At the same time, nearly 900 Taitung residents will travel abroad to Vietnam via the charter service.

Chen Sheng-Shan, Vice Chairman of Hwafu Tourism Group, noted that the charter flights not only provide convenient travel between the two destinations but also promote Taiwan’s international tourism development. Moving forward, the group will continue to work with Vietnamese partners to plan more diversified charter routes, allowing more domestic and international travelers to discover the beauty of Taitung and driving sustainable growth for the local tourism industry.

The five-day trip for Taitung residents to Vietnam also featured a rich itinerary: visiting the stunning Red Sand Dunes at sunset, wading through the Fairy Stream to explore unique rock formations, experiencing the romantic atmosphere at the Da Nang Cathedral, and cruising the Mekong River to visit orchards, bee farms, coconut candy factories, and the lush Coconut Forest, as well as touring the historic Vinh Trang Temple. This fusion of culture and nature offered travelers an unforgettable Vietnam experience filled with lasting memories.
