Operating in Taitung for over 40 years, Ke Lai Chi Le is a locally beloved culinary landmark. The shop only serves three dishes, but each is a classic. The signature dish, rice vermicelli with chittlins and oysters, features a rich, savory broth, sweet oysters, and braised pig intestines. It’s regarded by locals as a top-tier street fare. For dessert, they offer traditional brown sugar longan mung bean soup. In summer, there is also a shaved ice version. Both are rich in aroma, refreshing, and full of nostalgic charm.
The restaurant has been named as one of“Taitung’s Top 10 Best Small Eats,” while food critics have rated it “a rare, high-quality Taitung street food restaurant.” For four decades, it has represented Taitung’s down-to-earth food culture with handmade goodness.
The restaurant has a bilingual menu, so international visitors can easily order (and savor!) these authentic local flavors. (Photo credit: Ke Lai Chi )
