Zhian Bakery

When speaking of traditional stores in Taitung, Zhian Bakery is sure to be listed. Having been in business for over 35 years, the classic traditional delicacy “Fengzai Cake” continues to bring back that memorable childhood flavor. “Fengzai Cake” was named because the cakes used to be wrapped in long logs with calendar paper. The unit of packaging was called “feng.” As food safety regulations and practices continued to evolve, the traditional packaging method faded. Zhian bakery has repackaged this traditional cake and given it a new meaning of inheritance.

Four flavors of “Fengzai Cake” are offered at Zhian Bakery: mung bean paste, peanut, sesame, and pork floss. The fillings are hearty and refreshing, pairing perfectly with the luscious milky pastry. The bakery has one other signature cake, egg yolk bean paste cake that is continued to be made using traditional methods.
